
3. Bad News Cards:
In all 'Bad News Cards', the upper left side icons mean card's request, and the upper right side icons mean card's action.
When a player draws a Bad News card, the news influence that player’s corporation, unless the player holds Media Market Shares or Politics Shares, in which case, the player can inflict the bad news upon another player or save them for later, according to the Media or Politics Benefits.
Tax Payment for 5 BGD
This card is played on the News Phase and requires a payment of 5 BGD. The tax must be paid immediately, before receiving income. If the player doesn’t have enough cash to pay the tax, the player must sell Market Shares to the bank or to another player. In the event of a player without enough assets to sell, that player loses and quits the game and the player’s Market Shares go back to the bank. The tax card affects only players with more than 4 influence points. There are 2 such cards in the News Cards deck.

Influence Points Tax Payment
This card is played on the News Phase and requires a player to pay the bank a cash total equal to that player’s current influence points. The tax must be paid immediately, before receiving income. If the player doesn’t have enough cash to pay the tax, the player must sell Market Shares to the bank or to another player. In the event of a player without enough assets to sell, that player loses and quits the game and the player’s Market Shares go back to the bank. The tax card affects only players with more than 4 influence points. There are 2 such cards in the News Cards deck.

Corruption Exposed in the Party you support
This card is played on the News Phase and cancels 1 Politics Share. The player affected must then change the Share Token to a lower value token or, in the absence of an available lower value token, lose all Politics Shares. The player will then replace the Influence Token on the Influence Track accordingly.
The Corruption Exposed Card can be instantly cancelled by a Cancellation of Corruption card, and both cards are then discarded. The Corruption Exposed Card cannot be cancelled at a later occasion.

Suspected Criminal Activity
This card is played on the News Phase and affects one player in a specific market. The affected player is then denied the option of buying additional shares in that market. When the card is displayed, the affected player must flip over the Share Token to the other side, displaying the magnifying glass icon. The card can be cancelled with a ‘Cancel Suspected Criminal Activity’ card by any player in the News Phase of that player.
